Am I fighting a Loosing Battle with FOS

Out of principal, I am fighting an endowment claim right to the bitter end. I have jumped hurdle after hurdle, and am now wondering if I am fighting a loosing battle.
I appreciate that many posters on these forums feel that many claims are not as honest as they make out, but I assure you we are a genuine case.
The FOS really don't seem to be giving me a fair chance.
Has anyone else felt like this?
Is it common practice for them to liase with the "firm" or FA, giving them copies of all correspondence between us and them but not offering us the same service?
Everthing that we said, wrote or e-mailed to the FOS was then passed on to the firm for comment but nothing was ever passed on to us regarding the firm. We were never given the opportunity to reply to anything the firm said. Is this really fair?
As the case has progressed, I have found out that the FOS adjudicator tried to help the firm re-instate a time bar before even considering our side of the claim! There have been letters written by the firm with many un-truths in them that we were not made aware of. Where there is no evidence at all, the adjudicator has come to some incredible conclusions that are always on the side of the firm.
The case is now waiting to be seen by an ombudsman, but I am concerned that he/she will just automatically agree with the adjudicator.
Has anyone ever had an ombudsman uphold an earlier rejected complaint, or am I correct in thinking that the deal is done???
Thanks
