I suppose, as those items cook very quickly, and presuming any stock is at boiling/simmering point, they would be OK - but I wouldn't be putting anything like carrots / swede / parsnip into a SC whilst still frozen.
Just as an add on to the topic, I was looking at some reduced pre-prepared veg(sweet corn/broccoli/carrot mix) in Asda yesterday, but it had 'not suitable for home freezing' on it. Why? Surely it's veg and can be frozen?
I normally bulk freeze celery, peppers, cauliflower. Tried onion once but even though triple bagged and in a plastic box the whole freezer reeked!
I've never blanched anything in my life, that goes for shop bought or home grown stuff. I tend to make up a few "stew" packs every so often so that I can just wack them in the slow cooker!
