Not sure if this is in the right place, but don't know where it fits!!
My DH is self employed. He took out a contract with Windsor Associates to advertise in Tescos for 2 years. Its one of those advertising boards with business cards in.
He paid £200 up front then £73 a month for 10 months. They took the money no problem, the cards were replenished often and everything seemed fine.
Then they stopped replenishing the cards. We rang them and just got an answer machine. We assumed they had ceased trading and sought advice from a solicitor. We were told to gather the information we had together but in the mean time, this afternoon we had a cold call from a company claiming they were acting on behalf of the liquidators and said that a man would come tomorrow to talk to us about claiming from the dissolved company assets and we would be awarded £674 of which they would take £243. They left no company name, and it just feels dodgy!! The man is coming tomorrow to sign us up but I'm not happy its completely legit.
Anyone else have any dealings with this?
