Can anybody give me advise on what to do about the charges welcome finance are charging as they dont seem to listen to me and all their promises are false.
i took a £2300 loan out ten years ago ( I have missed 14 months of payments due to unforseen circumstances) In one month the charges where £265 plus interest for un answered phone calls to myself and letters hand posted to the door when im at work. At current the loans has increased to £6500 after ten years of paying £100 a month.
Any advice would be grately welcomed

I don't think you can ever get out of the loan (apart from going bankrupt). Are you paying as per their agreement? Because that will stop the charges!
Can you find a way of decreasing your outgoings (even in the short term) or increasing your income so you can pay your loan off faster?
If you post a statement of affairs as a new thread on the debt free board (a list of of your income and outgoings including debt repayments) and a bit about you (are you single, do you have dependents living with you etc) others will reply and hopefully you can get this loan under control!
I wish you all the best with it anyway.Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
Hiya me and my fiance had a loan with them, they are a nightmare to be with, we ended up getting our home remortgaged and paid them off as soon as we could.
I wish i could tell u what to do, but i'm not very good at these sort of things, but the best of luck, i hope u get something sorted.0 -
I have a loan with welcome and they are absolutly useless, i keep asking for a settlement figure so i know exactly how much i owe and they still have not coughed up for the last 6 months.
They have however frozen all intrest and charges on my account as long as i stick to the £85 a month repayments i have arranged with them. You may be able to do the same thing, your have to do a SOA with them and tell them how much you can afford each month.

There may well be things you can do about this company. It really depends on your particular loan and how it is made up.
There are options available on most loans through legal means. You would be surprised how the lenders have got things totally wrong and very frequently they have left themselves wide open for individuals to seek redress
If anyone needs help with Welcome or any of the sub-prime mortgage or loan lenders pm me and I will assist if I can.
