Cheap B&B in London?
Hi
I've got the next 3 weeks off (resigned from my old job and starting new one in 3 weeks) - and I would like to do something as I'll not get any other holidays this summer.
I've been wanting to go to London for years, but money is obviously a factor. I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a good cheap B&B in London? All I'm wanting is the very basics, nothing fancy.
I had looked at hostels, as they are even cheaper, but I don't like the idea of sleeping in a room with 5 strangers. Has anyone had any experience with hostels?

I would suggest you check out www.tripadvisor.com and have a look around their site. It is a really fab site where genuine people like you and me put up reviews of where they have stayed in London. You could initially do a search on lastminute.com or the suchlike to find cheapo places to stay and then check them out on tripadvisor. When I've gone to London it's almost always been with either OH or kids aswell so stayed in a Premier Travel Inn. Downside is that whilst they are fab, for 1 person £99 a night for room only is WAY too expensive. Good luck.0

Not all the hostels are multi-bed rooms, so don't rule that out. Also try student hostels and university halls of residence - I think most places have broken up now.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I had no idea that you could stay in halls of residence, that would be perfect!
I shall google that and try and find out more.
If anyone else has any more info let me know, thanks.0 -
Further to other messages, University College London offer many of their most central student accommodation halls out to london visitors, the main web page is here

They're all handy for Oxford Street, you can't get more central than that! Single rooms are available but you will have to share bathroom facilities. We used it for my hen do weekend, can't fault it for a cheap way to stay in london, we paid around £20 per night, some places even throw in breakfast.Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
Current debt: £14,000.00
