Offered a job and then it was withdrawn due to their own mistake

Hi guys.

I need a bit of advice..

I will bullet point it below;

• IOB for 2 secondment x 2 Ref: 66 – 14 (N) – four jobs were offered but only 2 advertised
• Inconsistencies with interviewing panel, I did not have a HR representative present at mine (a TL from the campaign was the stand in)
• Received letter from HR advising to signify my understanding and acceptance of this role
• I signed and returned this letter to HR as requested and was congratulated by HR panel.
• On my return on the call floor I was congratulated by various team mates and work colleagues throughout the campaign
• I was invited by email from same HR lady to meet her. She explained ‘I have made a big mistake, you didnt get the job’ and offered me a box of chocolates. (I was 2 points off the pass mark)

Another member of management (manager of job i was applying for) offered me the opportunity to participate in the training with the successful applicants, I am still considering this option as my initial opinion is I will then be doing a job which I am not reaping the benefits for and at the same time I realize this training will be beneficial for future career options.

Can anything me done? In summary, I was offered a job, I accepted, they accepted my acceptance notice and then withdrew the offer as they had made the mistake.

thanks
