hours reduced without warning

i work in in a travel money bureau and have been on 25hrs p/w since i startedi have today noticed on the work rota that my hours have been changed and as from next week i am only working 20hrs per week
are they allowed to do this without consulting me 1st ?

What does your contract say? If you are on a zero hours contract then (sadly) yes, they are

my contract states 25hrs per week , i have rang home and got mother to check it and it states i need 4 weeks notice in writing on any contractual changes0

Tell them of the mistake and what your contracts states. If they don't want you to work those 5 hours they still need to pay you according to your contracted hours0
