Hi all,

I have been put on the sick for a 'month' from the 6/01/2014

Am I correct thinking I am back due 3rd Feb?

Thanks.

No that would be a 4 week fit note....if your fit note says not fit for work for 1 month and it's dated the 6 jan then you will be due back into work on the 7th feb.

I've just tried to phone the doctors to clarify this but my doctor isn't available.

I'm off due to depression :(, but was not entirely sure when I was due back in.

It's true honest :) I worked as a GP receptionist for a very long time and have told hundreds of people the same thing...

I use to work in HR and dealt with sickness absence and sick notes all the time. Poppy68 is correct in saying that a month sick note from 06/01/14 runs out on 06/02/14, due to return on 07/02/14 or if still not fit enough to return to work your next sick note will be required to start form 07/02/14
