Bankrupcty and utilities bills

Hi,
I will be going bankrupt shortly but was wondering about utility bills. I am in Scotland and will be going the LILA route

I have a home phone/broadband package with Talk Talk which is out of contract and is now on a month to month basis.

I have a mobile phone with EE, which has 18 months left to run. It is £10 per month line rental and came with a free handset (which I no longer have)

I am not in arrears with either company and can afford to keep paying them (the TalkTalk account is in my name, but is paid with money from others in the household. T mobile is £10 per month line rental and I rarely go over that, and never above £20)

What will happen to these utilities? Will the Insolvency Practitioner force me to cancel them? Will the companies themselves cancel them?
Are they considered a form of credit?
Will bankruptcy cancel the EE contract? If so, will EE want the handset or will its value be added to the bankruptcy amount?

Thanks

    Hello there,

You shouldn't encounter any real difficulties. You should be able to keep those contracts going - so long as you're on a reasonable package to suit your needs. I've never come across Talk Talk or EE canceling a bankrupt's ongoing contract.

    Best wishes,

    David @ NDL.

Can you tell me the process for LILA bankruptcy? After I fill in the form and hand it in, will I need to go to court? I see people mentioning the OR in other threads, is that relevant in Scotland?
