Caught in between the devil and the deep blue sea last minute as per se, I'm tasked with tendering my notice now for the telemarketing job, I'm through a compliance check for the other role and as the DBS check is back I need to start work straight away, came quicker then I thought, I've worked a week and happy to forfeit my wages at current place as didn't make any leads, so really really bad I know, despite getting up to 500 calls per day the business just not there
Would you see soon to be old boss (not really a people person although very intelligent) or send an email so least it is put in writing? I would phone but the nature of business I'm coming out off means this probably isn't practical and all communication for the job was via email (yep they never heard my voice or telephone manner till I started!) it is a rather odd setup, our team leader quit by email
The offer letter said probation was 3 weeks and I just thought I'm probably not really supposed to tell them where I'm going to work now due to security so I'm stuck if they ask me where I'm going to work
I just don't want to end up crying like I did in the Jobcentre at sign off (that wasn't meant to happen) so I'm not the best person at emotions either!

Don't you have to work notice? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I would speak to him and then follow up with an email as per our conversationMy Debt Free Diary

Arent you required to work your notice? if so and you just walk away then you could be liable for any costs incurred if they have to take someone on to fulfil your role.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Why should it matter if you cry? Just go to your boss, say you are resigning effective immediately and you would prefer to leave immediately rather than have them incur any more costs employing you (sell it to them as a benefit. They will probably be glad not to have to pay you any more wages).
There is no reason why you should forfeit your pay for this week, either!!!!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I've always spoken to the boss in person then ended the conversation by saying I'll confirm everything in an email.
As others have said, if you leave without working your notice they could pursue you for costs of covering your work for that time. If you speak to your boss and explain your situation they may agree to waive the notice period - if they do, definitely ask them to confirm in writing the date they are happy for you to leave.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Telemarketing jobs should be BANNED. Nothing more than battery hen selling. I don't have any sympathy.0

Bless you, yeah but it did get me into work...and we even got free tea & coffee and kept warm so give and take both sides! hoping it will still come in useful for what I am wanting to do charity work wise with being on the phones so I don't hang up my headset completely!
Anyway my solution was accepted, the lovely ex boss has said best wishes off you go kind of relieved, thank the lord I worked for someone sensible and mature, all ended amicably0
