ive just been offered a job but its only 4 hours a week ! do I still claim JSA? and will I be expected to keep looking for full time work? the job I have been offered could lead to more hours and i really want to accept it but worried the JC will still be on my back to find another job, can anyone advise please?

If you are able to continue claiming JSA and you do so then yes, the Jobcentre will indeed expect you to carry on searching for a job, the clue is in the name of the benefit: Job SEEKER'S Allowance. If you aren't seeking then you're not entitled to it.0

If you claim JSA still then you will be expected to continue to look for more hours/work.
If you claim JSA as a single person, then work for 4 hours at £6.31/hour your wages would be £25 (rounded) - and JSA would ignore the first £5, then deduct £20 from your JSA.0 -
Worth still claiming JSA as you will still get something as wellas your other benefits such as housing / council tax. Obvsiously, some money will be taken off. you just need the right form to declare the hours / any pay to the job centre. THe bit about still looking for a job I am not sure on, they will expect you to do some, but how much you could check. Every job centre is different.0

you will only be allowed to keep £5 of your wage as the rest will be taken off your JSA, so 4 hours work for £5
you would be better looking for a jub that pays more than JSA or more than 16 hours, then you can sign off and not have to carry on signing on.
But yes they will expect you to carry on looking, you will still have to sign on and still fill in your book and prove you are looking and applying for jobs.0
