Clearing my debt, £40 at a time!!
Pink_Pauper
Welcome to my very pink diary!!
I have been lurking for a couple of weeks and reading other diaries - and I only think I've gone and had my LBM (I'm even picking up the lingo
), so thought I'd better start my own diary to inspire others to do the same.
I'm around £40,000 in debt  and am looking at clearing it in the next 1,000 days. I know that will take some doing, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Even if I don't clear the whole lot in 1,000 days, I'm sure I won't be that far off. I'm going to sit down tomorrow night (when I've got the house to myself) and write down all my debts, so I've got an exact figure. Could be more, could be less, but I've had my head stuck in the sand for too long and need a more accurate figure to work with.
I'm in my 30s, live with my boyfriend (no joint debts) and work full-time (which I should be doing now, but it quietens down in the last hour
). I try and do other bits and pieces in the evenings (mainly surveys) to earn extra money. I'm currently waiting for £8 to hit my PayPal from various survey sites.
Thanks for reading and I hope you stick around to follow my 1,000 day diary (day 1 is tomorrow
).

Hello Pinkpauper!
Loving the pink diary, and the lingo!
This is a brilliant place to come for motivation and like minded people so I am sure you will manage to bust the debts within 1000 days!
Have you done a SOA to see where your money is going? Thats the best way to start probably and to get the totals of all your accounts, loans, cards, overdrafts etc.
I will subscribe to your diary and cheer you along on your debt free journey!
Look foward to following your progress,

Hello PinkPauper, have you maybe came across the 1% at a time challenge? Instead of finding a way to pay off £40,000 they encourage members to find 100 ways to pay off £40. It's a lot more manageable and very fun. Your thread title reminded me of it and they're a very friendly bunch with lots of tips if you decide to take a look.Thank you competition posters!

Hi Mrs S  - thanks for posting!
An SOA is one of the things I'm going to do tomorrow night, along with my list of debts. Not sure if I'm brave enough to post them yet though

I think I have seen something about that on the board, but haven't had a proper look yet. I'm going to take some time later tonight to subscribe to a few posts and I'll definitely look out for that one. Could use all the extra earning ideas I can get

Hi In Need of Direction  - thanks for posting
You're right, everyone is lovely on here. I've had lots of kind replies already and I only started my diary 30 minutes ago
- I will probably post my SOA tomorrow. Don't know what's stopping me really as I don't spend that much on myself. I think my SOA is probably quite tame
