groan - writing out save the dates and mother is insisting I invite everyone's children even though our guest list is very small >:-(

Don't do it if you don't want to. I'm having a child free wedding and it will be bliss. I haven't listened to anyone's moaning about the guestlist as it's OUR wedding, not theirs. Don't succumb to the peer pressure.

Tablecloths, crockery etc can be hired from companies like HSS and Smiths Hire. Glasses can be borrowed from some supermarkets for a nominal fee.

Good quality plastic cutlery can be had on Amazon or Ebay fairly cheaply, as can paper napkins & paper tablecloths - beauty is it all goes in the recycling or bin afterwards ;)

Sazzarella - your wedding date is the same as mine! We are wedding twins :D

Problem is now sorted - mum wanted to invite everybody's kids and we wanted none.
Our guestlist was already at the max 120 that our venue can legally hold so adding to the numbers wasn't an option.

With apologies to some of the above posters I did compromise to keep the peace :shhh:
I relented on the children of my immediate siblings only (got 2 sisters and 3 stepsisters :-/) which added 6 and gave my mum a list of adults on her side of the family that I wasn't overly bothered about either way and told her to pick which 6 she wanted to take off the guest list to make room for the children. I've lost a few aunties & uncles but hoping that I can put them back in if I get a few declines.
I might also 'forget' the children in the numbers as we've got a villagehall/pub function room and are providing all the food ourselves so I reckon that the venues won't notice that we're 5 small children over the max ;)

We WON'T be providing any special entertainment just for the children - My mum can look after them :D
Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’s. They are broke!
