Hi
Just wondered what everyone thinks about entering lots of comps and giving personal details?
If I enter any, I seem to get loads more spam. Although it's filtered, I do wonder about how secure your details are when given out to comps?

hi i posted this in one of the posts before,i nearly always give a false date of birth on all my competition entrys apart from the odd one or two as once when i joined a site i realised theyd done a credit check on me without me knowing therefore affecting your credit rating ect, aslo not only that your details could be sold on,something thats really cheesing me off at the moment is the amount of calls im getting about surveys and crap,i got one fonecall last night asking if i wanted to buy magazines at reduced prices lol,and also lots of miss calls on anymous numbers, and from call centres ect,all i suggest is be wary, obviously you have to put in your proper adress because some prizes are posted straight out without conformation, but otherwise be carefull what other details you put in,also the site that i registered my details on that done a credit check was a very reputable site,it was only for the fact i got points off pigsback for doing a credit search thingy majig that id realised they checked my credit and goodness know what reason. It`s getting to the point0

Hi Dollop
I've been entering loads of comps mostly on this forum. I usually give the details as requested. I never really thought of giving a false DOB except years ago when I was underage drinking. If the DOB is not required does this mean that sites requesting DOB are a higher risk of being scams. Does giving a false DOB mean it could void your entry. :eek:Winnings 2007 = £463 winnings 2008 = £30002009 prizes = Tinkerbell DVD, Lipstick, apertif dish, London day out, secret service xbox game.0 -

I always give my telephone number if they ask for it. What the preference lines do is stop unsolicited calls. I have not won a comp yet where the phone has been involved so not able to say whether it makes a difference but would not have thought so. I'll let you know in a year or so.
hope that helps. sarer:)0 -
I usually give my mobile number & I've only been rung once or twice, one was a phone company & the other was a win! Woohooo0
