Hi all,
Not sure if Im posting this in the right place.
But...is there anyone about on the forum that might know if employees from Morrisons will be getting their annual bonus in March?
Ive asked about at work and no-one seems to know, what with profits going down etc.
Thanks
Rach

you won't know untill a month or so before pay out--Surely you want the decission makers to know as much as possible with wich to make their decission0

Hiya,
Its in our staff hand books that were entitled to it - I doubt they won't pay it out. That said, that's not to stop them giving us a low percent & and if they really wanted to their would probably be a way out of it but..they've done it for so long now I don't know why your worried.
Also, Morrisons advertises they give staff a bonus every year with their stocks - so they like to keep it at least the same percent as other wise it could be seen they aren't doing very well to them.f
FYI is profit really lower...or have they just wasted alot of money this year on store of the future....I'd be looking at sales figures from last year not profit considering their 'investments'.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Thanks for your reply.
I couldnt find my staff handbook and when I did mention it in passing to my supervisor, she said she had heard a rumour it wasnt being paid out.
Someone did ask the manager and he wasnt helpful at all. Just shrugged.
Thanks for your help.

It's usually around 10-12% of the profits are shared out in the staff bonus. The amount you get depends on how many hours you have worked over the past year.0

Bear in mind they have spent recently on their new ordering online project0

But surely increased spending means reduced profits? Profit in the most simplistic form is revenue minus costs. If costs have gone up then profits will be less. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Morrisons have been spending year on year on new and new replacement store openings. You make it sound like they have only just spent money.0 -

No I'm not.
I was just questioning your statement that the money morrisons spent on their new internet ordering process won't affect the bonus scheme as the bonus scheme is linked to profit, not spending.
It seems a strange statement as profit is affected by spending.
I was thinking I had missed something obvious and you would come back with a good reason why my statement was wrong.
Sadly I've ended up being disappointedThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The profit share bonus scheme is a share of a percentage of the profits from the last financial year (February to January). What you're saying is they could spend all the money first and not make a profit at all.0
