I bought a £13k car for cash last year. Lots of older people buy cars for cash.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Perhaps it was not everyone's choice - I wouldn't buy a skoda, or a fiat panda, or a Volvo, or a Mazda 2, or a Kia etc regardless of whether it was well priced and showroom condition - the cash is unrelated - just not my choice of car!

What was it by the way?
So, you don't like Fiat, Skoda,Volvo, Mazda, Kia, or Peugeot 308cc. Rather limiting your choice aren't you?

Not really, there's still around 75% of the car market available after removing those Marques.

Only had it as a second car, wouldnt buy peugeot again
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Sorry I haven't been on to check in ages!

Yes the figures are correct. There is no balloon payment at the end of the contract, I think because I traded my old car in + paid money upfront, and we haggled with ford they lowered the % we owe on top as it was low risk for them.

If I was to pay the remainder to the finance company in one payment and then sell the car and keep the money that would be fine? May have to look at doing that...

Looking to sell the car around July/August time.

Thanks for all the help as well! It's been really insightful.
