Personal trainer

Options
Thinking about getting a personal trainer and wanted some advice. What sort of things should I look in picking someone? Is there such a thing as discounted personal trainers? Not sure if there are large groups offering personal trainers. I imagine they are mostly self employed. Is there any sort of health plan or scheme you can claim back the costs on?

Would much appreciate your advice and help.

Ask at your local gym for recommendations. Chances are that some of the fitness instructors in the gym are also personal trainers. Find out who they are see how they interact with people in the gym. Many are allowed to train their own clients in the gym too (for a fee). The key is finding someone you get along with and trust.

ETA: If you can't afford a PT then most will take on couples and small groups, reducing individual costs. Have you got a partner or friends you could team up with?

I got my trainer through recommendation from a friend of mine who had recently started with her. I had also observed her in the gym training people, so knew her 'style'. Also seen her training so I knew she practices what she preaches.
If possible personal recommendation is the best route in my opinion.
