Disposal of VHS tapes

Hi

I have a bunch (~40) of recordable VHS tapes I haven't used for 10 years. Who knows what content on them is!

Anybody have any ideas/experience what to do with them? Gumtree, freecycle?

Do people still want these things? I don't want money or anything, just want to get rid, preferably to someone that would find them useful!

Probably no monetary value but Freecycle / Freegle will usually get rid of them.

Some people buy them to get the old adverts and put them on youtube. I dont know who these people are though....
