26.6.07 what small dfw/mse thing will you do or have you done today?

Hello lovely DFWers - old timers and newbies :hello:

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will:

- send everyone off with packed lunches
- check online banking and move money around
- update spreadsheet ready for July
- do piggy clicks
- not increase my debt in any way
- be positive
- write a letter of complaint - was ripped off in costa coffee yesterday

Hope everyone has a good day x

Hi hypno, hi all. Today's activities:
    - latest Amazon purchaser sent a thanks email (!nice person!) so have replied to that.
    - tried to do an online survey - haven't spent enough at the supermarket!
    - will be sorting financial work so I can prepare for my behavioural meeting tonight (at my house! so must also sort living room). He's been and gone, it was really interesting, if v expensive - if it works, tho, its worth anything. Can't quite believe this, but when he asked how I felt about what we'd done, I eventually told him it was a piece of cake compared to what I did!!! I really said that:eek:   My business partner compares me to Sybil Fawlty AND ITS TRUE!!! Well, still tho but, if I'm paying him that much, I should be able to say what I think :o :rotfl: :o
    - sorting other paperwork - so that nothing absolutely awful is hanging over me for my holiday, which is coming up on Friday. Hurray! (mostly at home, but still, hurray!).
    - any clicks while I'm waiting. Won't be many (oh for the ability to uninstall freecell and solitaire).
    - lunch at home, so cheaper, and using up some of the things I bought for when my nephew was down here at the weekend.

    Think thats about it. Byeeee...

    Afternoon hypno & all.

I am off sick today _pale_ so it should be a NSD for me which is DFW.

I have also done Quidco searches and looked on Pigsback for comps but they are still not working. Not for me anyway. And no more click thrus today. Ah well.

I have done two lots of washing which I am getting dry on the line. No more to do now thank goodness I feel exhausted just hanging those things out!

De-scaled the kettle with some Wizz product I forgot I had so hopefully the kettle will boil faster now - less energy used!

Will save the HM lunch that was made last night for me to take to work today and use it tomorrow. It will keep no problem in the fridge.

Lost my appetite so probably no lunch for me today! :rotfl:

I hope everyone else has a good DFW day.

    LA x

  • Hi everyone. Things have got so much better for me since joining you lot. Im so much more positive and motivated to gewt my finances in order. Anyway, i've seen people mention selling their old books on amazon, and wondered, is it simple and what do i do? Ive got loads of old books, text books and such from various courses ive done over the last few years, so i'd like to give it a go. Any tips, please??

    Hi mollybilly.

Selling on Amazon is easy peasy - you just use their on screen 'wizard' to list your books.

However - do some research first as you may find that the books you have are listed by the bucket load and you'd never sell them.

Just have a scout around and see what's selling for what money and how many are listed.

Some books sell on EBAY but I don't think EBAY is a great market for reading material unless it's very popular stuff.

    Afternoon:
I'm having a nsd, and have eaten something I batch-cooked for lunch. Also am going to eat what's left in the fridge instead of going shopping...now what can I make with lard, guinness and cheese?
    Overpay!
