October win still no show

Options
Hi All,

Just looking for some advice please.

I had a WEM on 25th October last year telling me I was the lucky winner of the Murad/Richmond & Twickenham Times competition to win £200 worth of Murad goodies. I had to pick what I wanted and email the marketing assistant with my choices and name & address details. Which I did. Then I emailed them again mid December as I had heard nothing, then again the beginning of last week as still no response.

Should I just write off as a lost cause? Or maybe I should try the old fashioned pen and paper way?

Any advice/opinions will be appreciated, thank you xx

Hi hun, pleeeeeease don't consider writing this off, at least not until you've tried everything first. A £200 win doesn't happen that often. Have you tried asking them about it publicly, on FB and/or Twitter?

If all else fails I would write again in a friendly tone, but with just a hint of threat. Something like:

"I'm struggling to get a response from you and am really reluctant to take this further, but if I do not hear back from you by [7 days time is usually a fair-ish time frame] I will feel forced to contact the IPC to ask them to intervene."

  • I agree with above do not write this off, sometimes it can just be a case of multiple people dealing with a competition and each leaving it to the other to do

Did you have a phone number on any of the emails? I would personally call if there is one and then go back to the original company running the competition who will chase it themselves.

If all else fails Edwin Mutton from the IPC is very good

  • Thought I'd post an update.... I left a message on the answerphone of the person who originally contacted me about my win.... no response. I then sent a "stern" email....no response. So I feel I only have the IPC option left. Must say this is the first time I've encountered the lousy side of comping :( Hey ho!
