You might want to avoid the £5 free.
    Also look at topcashback
  • I've been using it since 30th December. All I've done is put purchases I would have made anyway through Quidco. In one or two cases it means I've purchased from a different place from usual as the cashback and price has been better; in one or two other cases I've been able to benefit from Quidco-exclusive vouchers.

I'm at £12.63 tracked at the moment and, of a total 18 transactions, 3 failed to track on their own so I've raised claims for those.

I haven't been on there long enough for any retailers to confirm/reject my payments yet so can't comment on that. For the same reason I haven't had any actual payments yet so can't comment on that either.

I don't pay the £5 fee for the "premier" membership - just the basic one.

I did also sign up for Quidco Opinions and have made an astonishing £1 there! Most of the surveys seem to be just for "fun" and I seem to be excluded from a lot of them based on my demographics and employment field (something I've noticed on other survey sites, too).

I don't use any similar sites, but I've got investigations on my to-do list.

I've been with Quidco for a few years now (I joined in February 2011) and have earned more than £650 in cashback.

Basically, when making ANY online purchases, check first whether the company offers cashback via Quidco. It doesn't matter how small a purchase you plan to make, remember that pennies make pounds!

The next important thing to consider, is that cashback is NEVER guaranteed. So weigh out the pro's and con's if you are considering different options based on normal cost vs cost after cashback. E.g. Car insurance. I regularly take the gamble, but only if the difference between the cheapest cashback price and the cheapest price without cashback is only a very small sum, e.g. last year the difference for me was £2 before cashback. I took the policy which was £2 more expensive, but thankfully did receive my £50 cashback, effectively making it £48 cheaper. If it's approved, you should note that, depending on the company, it can also take several months before you receive the cashback.

Another important factor is to be strong, don't get sucked into making purchases just because of promotions made by companies through Quidco. Only proceed with purchases that you would normally make, or need to make, regardless of seemingly amazing cashback deals!

I have my account set up to automatically pay into my account after I've accumulated £50 worth of cashback so that it's a decent amount and isn't taken for granted. We have also found that cashback deals can be manipulated in your favour. E.g. my partner & I moved a couple of years ago, our telephone service was in his name. It was cheaper to pay the £30 cancellation fee to get out of his contract than it was to take the line with us because I set up a new account with a new number at the new property, which benefited from free installation, a several month discounted introductory offer, £50 worth of supermarket vouchers, and £120 cashback (which, when I received it a few months later, we then used towards prepaying our line rental which saved us a further £5 a month for the next 12 months).

  • as others have said if you are going to buy something have a look on Quidco. Would suggest that you stick to one site though otherwise you may end up with lots of little bits and will probably get a better service lonterm. In 10 years I have had over £1200 cash back for things that I was going to buy anyway

I've been using Quidco for a couple of years- don't buy much but had just over £100.
They have an offer on just now if you book and go to Optical express, you get £5 into your account. Easy money- it's just an eye check up.

If you know what you want to buy, just trawl through the search engine to see what companies they support- especially for big items like washing machines, beds, etc.

Glad you're finding a way to save some money- some companies take ages to pay though.

Oh, also, do your insurances- house insurance, car insurance, etc through there- I have a pending £45 payment for doing my car insurance this way. :)

brilliant information - thanks so much will take it on board. Joined because I wanted to buy dishwasher. Ended up going direct to Curry's because it cost £8 more via Quidco so seemed to negated any cashback. Is this something that happens often? Also want eye test/new glasses but like Specsavers, couldn't find them listed on Quidco so will have to go direct there too. However I will learn. thank you all again.

Hey rokel, do you know about Martin's cashback checker? It lets you compare the rates at several cashback sites for whichever store you want to buy from, v. useful. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cashback-sites-comparison/

    Of those listed, I've used:
    http://www.quidco.com
    http://www.topcashback.co.uk
    http://www.imutual.co.uk

quidco and topcashback are the biggest and often have exclusive deals. I really like imutual though, they seem very reliable and have a great concept about giving shares to members.

Best to join em all and use the MSE site to find the best rate. Good luck! :)
