It is your responsibility thats what measuring tapes are for, how would the salesman know the size of the lift.
Time to get the family and friends round to hump it up 6 floors.0 -
We gave them the sizes . N they said it's OK . So thanks for that comment great help0

And it won't go up the stairs so thanks0

any written proof on them saying it would be fine?0

It is still your responsibility to check that it will fit. They deliver to the address - unless there is something specifically written into the contract to state they will place in situ up 6 flights of stairs, then you most likely don't have a leg to stand on.
Why didn't you check the measurements yourself? They are on their website, and would have been available in store.0 -
Nope all verbal. When my wife spoke to them after failed delivery they asked if 2 seater would be OK . But not now . Why can't they just sell it on to next order ??0

Because they have already sold it to you.mrgreen2309 wrote: »Why can't they just sell it on to next order ??
Why should they have to go to all the trouble of having to sell it again?0 -
So you bought a suite and didn't measure either the stairs or the lift? And tbh it must go up the stairs, there is no block of flats that would have a stair well to narrow for a suite, don't regulations state they should be a minimum width of 1200mm.0
