Hyperlink help please

I am trying to add a hyperlink to my posts and since I have windows 8 I don't seem to be able to get it to work. Can someone confirm how to do it in case I am having a brain meltdown moment.

    Thanks One-Eye knew I found it somewhere before, but searching on hyperlink wasn't giving me anything. OK. So, now I know I'm not going mad. When I click on the world with link icon (having highlighted my text) nothing happens.


    It works correctly in Word etc, just not in moneysavingexpert. Maybe I should check in chrome as I'm using ie at the minute.

    OK, what a surprise, its a problem with ie. Maybe its one of settings on ie? I have windows 8.1 and ie 11
