limonene free toothpaste

Does anyone use a limonene-free toothpaste? (shop-bought, rather than home-made).
It seems to be everywhere.
I found one from Lavera, but it's rather expensive.
Eutymol seemed to be but didn't like the fact that it contains simethicone.

Thanks :)

    didn't know about those, thanks.
Would they work out cheaper than regular toothpaste, say, at £3-4 for a 75ml tube (using very little toothpaste, just a little squirt).

Toothy Tabs seem to have limonene in them.

Don't strike me as a particularly good tooth cleaning product anyway.

Would I regret asking you what you feel the problem with limonene is?

    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
  • Yup, just spotted that. However, they do have different flavours so they might not all contain it? I just use them for LARP events :)

I'm also wondering what the issue is...

Some of them don't contain it, so in theory they would be fine. Not to keen either, but could be handy for experimenting with a toothpaste without limonene.
Nothing mysterious about it lol, just a boring skin allergy, limonene is the probable cause and I'm going to try and remove it from my life altogether and see what changes (it's not the nastiest of products, it's present in lemon and orange peels, it's just an individual sensitivity)

Oranurse is an entirely flavourless toothpaste. Contains fluoride which euthymol doesn't and doesn't have limolene. Can get direct from oranurse website , can order from boots or buy from amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oranurse-3659273-50ml-Unflavoured-Toothpaste/dp/B0085AOSU0

I checked through the samples I had this afternoon and was surprised how many toothpastes contained it.

As I now know it's not a wildly whacky reason you're avoiding it, I did notice that Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief didn't. That does have SLS in it though, which I know people can dislike and try to avoid.

It is a sensitive toothpaste too, so might be a bit more than you want to pay. On the plus side though, it will be on every supermarket shelf, so no need to hunt around.

I had tried to ignore the amount of nasty chemicals in the products we use (without mentioning what we eat) but since having had to look at labels it's really dawned on me the sort of rubbish we spend money on...
Will take a look at that Colgate toothpaste.
  • Hi, I was just wondering if you had any luck with the limonene free toothpaste? I am also allergic to limonene and am finding it hard to find a toothpaste that doesn't make me react? Do you have any other products that you have found that you are able to share with me as this allergy is a really difficult one to manage as it is in everything. Thank you

turns out I'm not allergic to limonene after all, I tried spraying deodorant with limonene on one side, one without on the other and they were both fine, could be SLS instead, but since I've stopped using Ecover laundry liquid and switched to a very mild shampoo I've been fine so I'm happy even if I don't know what it was.
Anyway while I was still trying to find out if it was limonene I bought a toothpaste from Aldi, one of their flavours doesn't have limonene, but I would not recommend it, once the colours mix it turns grey and it doesn't taste nice.
