Replacement boiler grants

Hi all
I'm trying to find out if there are currently any grants available in Northern Ireland to either replace an old oil boiler with a new one or to replace the system with gas.
The person its for is on benefits, but with a private sector landlord. Are there any grants that either they or the landlord can apply for? I've seen plenty on offer across the water, but none here. I've looked at the warm homes initiative, but I think they just do heating grants if there isnt heating there in the first place
Any advice warmly welcomed

I think the boiler has to be over 15 years old.
Here it is

Sorry only owner occupiers.
Which I agree with. It's the LL responsibility. That's why you pay rent. If it doesn't suit, move on.0 -
wow cant believe this post...I have been searching since last week regarding the EXACT same query and thought id look on here today for a thread. The only help i got about the issue was from the Warm Homes people telling me that i could be entitled to £300 for converting from oil to gas and that Firmus will be giving out grants in April for converting...she didnt say what the amount of grant it would be.I have been given the runaround by people sending me from one person to another so still searching.I received a leaflet from Phoenix Gas on Monday past which says on the front...."For more great reasons to switch to gas" and a telephone number on it.I rang and the bloke said he didnt deal with that side of things pfft! and told me to look on the phoenix web site.It might be helpful for you but it didnt suit my requirements at this stage.stevieboy11 wrote: »Hi all

I got in contact with my landlords agent who said that because i am about to have a new kitchen installed(with a £30 rise in my rent per month) that the house owner cannot afford to also get me converted to gas or renew the boiler and that i should look around for grants.Hmm back to square one.I am going to have to either stick with my 2 bar electric fire for the moment or perhaps wait until Firmus gives out (hopefully) grants in April.
Theres lots of info out there ,its just a matter of getting to the right people and finding out where to start. The very best of luck to your friend regarding this.Hope he or she has a good outcome. If his or her landlord would be willing to contribute to either converting or renewing the boiler if a grant was secured then maybe that would be a good solution.He/she would need to probably seek out the grant rather than the landlord.I hope this is of some help.0 -
How much does a plumber charge to replace an oil boiler with a gas one ?0
