Mould vs. Cold - stopping black mould in an old property

Options
I live in a poorly-ventilated old tenement which has a huge mould problem on the inside of the external walls. I have to de-mould the walls from the floor to about a metre up every 6 months using HG mould spray. I rent so I can't do anything about the structure of the building.

Does anyone have any tips on reducing the mould without leaving my windows open all day (ground floor flat and I work full time so not practical) and losing all my expensive heat? The place also has high ceilings so it takes forever to heat.

Could you get a couple of those containers that attract the damp from inside your rooms?

Unfortunately, the growth of 'mould' involves spores which are how mushrooms/toadstools/fungus grow. They're a beggar to get rid of.

Was the property like that when you moved in?

Have you spoken to your Landlord / Letting Agent about it?

You could buy a dehumidifier but they are expensive to buy, but they really do help. Make sure you don't put wet washing on radiators too as this really does increase the moisture in the air.
