having done competitions for years over 35 actually coming to this site is the best i have ever done but i just want to make sure im getting the best out of the site. i usually go to page one of the competitions each day and just comp away. anyway i saw the regular comps last week and when i started going through them it took me two days to do them all without doing the main comps. thing is obviously these comps are coming up again and again i get that but how is it best to use the board? how best to combine it with the other comp postings so i dont m iss anything?

hi, think everyone finds their own way to comp :)

way i usually work the boards i subscribe to certain threads so then get an instant email as soon as a new comp/posting is posted
    such as these for example

Magazine Daily competition thread - updated regularly

    puzzler.com competitions - regularly updated (Part 4)

Take a Break Puzzle Magazines - regularly updated

Postal, Text and Phone Competitions - Part 22

    WEEKLY COMPETITION POSTS: Updated Regularly

Daily competition thread - updated daily

    i go through the listed
    Regular Competitions
    in the mornings to enter
dailys/mag dailys/etc (whichever ones to want to enter for)
then i go to main board & go back to my last green tick/red cross where I've left off from the evening/time before & work back to page one,

i use this helpful link as well for any time i want to check for End dates & quick checks etc

i also have the magazine posters who post the weekly magazines such as that's life! / Pick me Up /
Chat / Real People / Love It! / Bella etc on my contacts in user cp & check each week on their profile for the new postings :)

prob wouldn't work for everyone but i find it a quick way to work the boards x

last week & the week before I had pm's from peeps on here that have won a couple of the big money prizes from Take Break magazine weekly & know of others that win from other mag postings,
think it's just the same old saying, the more you enter the more chance of winning & you've got to be in it to win it as they all say:)
wishing you lots of good luck for whichever system you find good to use, happy comping & keep entering :j

I agree completely! I love this site & the folk are just lovely.

As someone has already said it's just a personal preference thing...how you use the site. So I'll give you my method but I'm not sure it's the best way to do it :)

    Daily:
    1. I go through the previous 24hrs main board comp postings. Excluding any ITV comps** I find here (although I pop them in favourites)
    2. I do the magazine dailies.
I don't usually check here for answers unless I am really stumped.
    3. I go through the ITV comps** And enter to the max with my land & mobile phone numbers using RoboForm (do download this gem of a program if you haven't already!)
    4. I go check the POSTAL board and enter those that take my fancy.
    Weekly:
    1. I buy (what I call) the misery mags - Take A Break, Chat etc., because I really love puzzles. But I refuse to waste life on Word Searches so I do cheat and look for the answers on here for those :o

    Good luck with your comping!

I only started in December, but so far what I do...

Competitions Main Board - I enter everything that takes my fancy (currently up to date with the whole board, so if I have to miss a day for whatever reason, I don't miss too much)

Mag Dailies - I tend to enter all of these once per magazine; this is not the best way to win, I know :D But I find it boring entering the same comp time and time again, so I leave that to fate... :rotfl:

Magazines - Always feels like cheating to get the answers from here, so I do buy Take a Break / That's Life / Chat, and do the puzzles for the prizes I would like to win. I enter those online, leaving the boxes blank for any prizes I don't want.

I second Dreaming of Kubera's suggestion of Roboform: it saves me lots of form-filling time, I also have it set to remember some of my logins, and I have a 'no thanks' setting so it automatically fills out those annoying boxes on the magazine dailies.

Oh, and the other thing I do several times a day is go into the IWIWIW forum... for two reasons:
    1) It's inspirational to see winners and keeps me motivated...
    2) I believe in good karma - I like being pleased for others, as I think it generates good luck vibes for myself... If I can be happy for others, that makes me feel good, and gives me good comping karma. :rotfl:
