Visa for Russia

Hi

I am going to visit a friend who lives Russia in April.

I will stay with her in Moscow for a week and we will then go to St Petersburg for a long weekend where we will stay in a holiday apartment and will then fly home.

I need to sort out my visa and am wondering if anyone can recommend a good cheap company to help. My friend says I need to get a tourist visa as her husbands company won't provide a letter for a personal visa??

Anyway any advice?

I'm afraid I've never been to Russia, but have you seen this advice for Russian entry requirements on the FCO website?

You need to arrange a Letter of Invitation covering your whole trip from a Russian hotel or tour company - once you've done that it's simple if longwinded to get a visa through Russia's official visa agents in London

There are certainly agents in London and maybe other large towns who will arrange that for you - plus the visa as well if you want. The real Russia site mentioned above looks professional - and its price not too bad. There are probably others but I've no experience of any.

Basically, you book a hotel, you get the visa thrown in:

    e.g.

    £249pp – 3 nights in Moscow

    Includes:

-- 3 nights at Best Western Vega Hotel 4*
    -- Breakfast
-- Tourist visa to Russia (regular price £125)
    -- Free Wi-Fi

    * The offer is valid from Friday to Monday. The price is based on sharing room accommodation. The offer does not include flights. Excursions/guide/airport transfer can be booked per request for additional charge.

    * The offer is valid for the following dates from 01.02 to 15.04.2014. The price is based on sharing room accommodation. The offer does not include flights. Excursions/guide/airport transfer can be booked per request for additional charge.
