The implant provides a much more stable anchor point for the denture.
Dentures can be made on two or more implants. The stability increases the more implants help support it, but - if you've had no teeth of your own for a long time, then there may mnot be enough bone to place the implant into.
This can be overcome with bone grafts, but it all adds to the complexity and the cost of the proceedure. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
sorry for my ignorance but is the implant with denture the same as having a plate in your mouth, tyring to visualise with difficulty0

No dentures on a plate are just that. Implants are actually screwed into the bone/jawbone and do not come out.0

no there are implants that are attached someway to a denture, I can`t understand it myself hence my post0

Implant supported dentures are just like a denture - so yes there is a plate.
Instead of just sitting on the gum and relying on suction and muscle control to hold it up, it has something pretty similar to press-studs to clip onto.
These 'press-studs' are the outer part of the implants. How to find a dentist.
