Think it's a great idea, always good to have something to aim for. Really you cant go wrong with property, and it sounds like prices are at a low already, so value can only improve. But first .. Lets get you fit and healthy, i wondered if we might take a bungee jumping holiday in the Spring .. (When else do you leap off on a bouncy rope ? )Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0

Hola!
Sorry, I've been a bit distracted of late (see my diary entry below) so I've not been online much.
Yeah, I'm sort of thinking that if I really put my mind to it I can probably save enough to get somewhere "cheap" outright in just a few years... I am of course banking on quite a few factors going my way lol but if I do manage it then my biggest worry (winding up either homeless or rotting in a box room) is no longer a worry!
Now, about that bungee holiday... It'll be like traction right?

Wednesday 10/12/14;
It's been a few days since my last post, I'm feeling a bit run down but I'm still in good spirits generally... I just need some rest.
I've had a few problems with my back and hip flaring up, presumably due to the bad weather so I've invested in some vests which are helping but I couldn't resist burning some holes on of them and grinding some ash from a burnt newspaper into it so it's good and messy... I now have my very own Die Hard vest! Yippee kiyay!!! I can't resist striking a pose and pulling Bruce Willis faces LOL
More seriously perhaps though is that I have developed Tinnitus somehow and for almost a week now I've really struggled sleeping as it's like a car alarm in the distance (just not far enough in the distance) ad although I do eventually fall asleep it takes ages and it is literally out of exhaustion and if I get woke up then I'm back to square one!
I saw my GP and she checked to make sure I don't have an infection and (in her words) I have two of the cleanest ears she has ever seen LOL with no infection or inflammation and the hope is that as it's just started it will just go although it does seem to be getting louder - more worrying is that the volume on things seems to be getting louder so I have the tv very low for example and it seems louder without any noise (ironically) both of which are symptoms that it may get worse but it's apparently an unknown so fingers crossed eh? I must be due some good fortune LOL
As for what else my GP said? Well, she signed me off for another two months as telling me that I'd be a fool for going back if I'm not 100% and to not underestimate what a year off can do mentally, not just physically but I suppose I'll just 'suck it and see'... I need to at least try and get back if I ever want to get my "dream" house in Hull

Stalking you Monkers ....sorry to read about the tinnitus, I've had it since a child but I think my back meds and defo tiredness and stress makes it worse. When its really bad, I find sleeping with the radio or tv on very low, or even with headphones in on low makes it sleepable.
Like the property tycoon plan - the estate agent being interviewed on the radio today seemed to think the stamp duty changes will help the market move a bit.
Keep smilingDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Hi Sazz
Stalk away m'dear, especially if you've tips on how I can get a decent nights sleep... I had another night of almost no sleep last night and just as I got over (I think) it started raining so hard it was drumming on the window! Right now I have massive bags under my eyes - I was contemplating drawing the Louis Vuitton logo on them and claiming they're designer...

Think I need to send you that bottle of malt Mb, a couple of drams out of that, and you'd sleep like a babe in arms ! I never even heard the thunderstorm shaking the house ! The North of Scotland is getting a fair old lashing this week, wind, hail and four days of thunder and lightning so far. I think it might be the end of the world !
And that would be a shame since I almost finished the xmas shopping !
In all seriousness tho, have you tried reiki ? Im not usually a huge believer in alternative therapies, but tried this as a last resort for muscle spasms in my shoulders .... The difference was amazing ! Almost instant relief and the pain stayed gone for ages !Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -

Well you've hit the nail on the raindrop. You seethe theory goes is its your brain focussing on some 'internal noise' and when you heard the rain the brain focussed on that instead. Doesn't help you sleep mind. Some people swear by whale sounds or running water but it just sends me to the loo all night.
I think Action for Deaf people have an info sheet on it (its not just deaf people who suffer with tinnitus).
Alternatively Mara's suggestion seem pretty uplifting tired or not :TDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Hola! Just a quick note to say WAHOO! best day in a long time despite being the coldest(?) so far
I've had a really good day with my back, it's played up a little bit a couple of times but on the whole it's just been stiff and a bit "achy" which I can handleI'd love to think this is the beginning of the end but I know better than that now LOL
Anyway, fingers crossed for an even better day tomorrow!!!
