    Evening folks :)

Thanks for posting, I think at the moment I need a couple of days to get my head straight and then take it from there... I was sort of expecting for there to be nothing wrong that a bit more exercise wouldn't fix and from the sound of what my GP told me I shouldn't be getting the same pain that I am but fingers crossed the specialist can fix me ;)

My boss is arranging a call with HR for next week to discuss what we can come up with... I know a chair and a desk raise are easy to sort so I'm not worried in that respect it's just that I need to be able to concentrate and fidgeting and shuffling doesn't help LOL time will tell...

    Thanks again,

    Hi MB

Good that you actually have confirmation at last what the problems are and I do hope you don't have to wait too long before you get your referral.

Thumbs up for the HR meeting this week.

  • Evening all!

Sorry I've been AWOL for a "wee bit" but I had to move back to the 80's (aka. Mum's) for a bit.

My Mum was in hospital for a couple of weeks with Pneumonia, luckily she is fine now but when she came out I moved in to look after her so over a month later I'm back home and have some catching up to do!

    Anyway, Mum situation aside this is me now;

Work - Still signed off, I'm reeeeeally missing sitting down now! I'm fantasizing about sitting and watching an episode of Heartbeat (sad, I know lol) and supping a cuppa with a few biscuits :) and then sitting down and having a meal instead of eating it from the top of a medium sized chest of drawers LOL. I have spoken to my manager who is still happy to support me as I go but has basically told me that the job would be virtually impossible part time (to be fair, it's pretty intense and stressful)... My occupational sick benefit is due to run out and then who knows!!! Time will tell but right now, I don't entirely care LOL I just want to be fixed now, the rest I'll figure out later... This could be an opportunity in disguise as it free's me of my current shackles and do something good with my life?

My back - Same old boring same old... But, in 2 weeks time I get to see a spine specialist at Leeds general infirmary to see what's next! Possibly an operation? Possibly nothing they can do but leave it to sort itself out? Possibly more advice on what I can be doing??? More to follow in a couple of weeks time :)

Home - I love my house mates, they're a great bunch but my landlord has started to use a new property management company and the first thing they've done is tell us all that they're putting the rent up!!! £50 more from the end of October and the same again at the end of July next year :( as I may be on housing benefits shortly and all the calculators seem to be telling me I'm entitled to £63 per week (ok and another £20 or so towards Council tax) it's waaaay to expensive so I'm shortly to move back to Mum's! Not something I really want to do but it's a council place so almost all the rent will be covered and if I'm on the tenancy agreement for more than 12 months with Mum then I get inheritance rights should the worst happen :( so I at least won't be homeless... I spoke to the housing people and apparently me losing my job and not being able to find somewhere to live when I can't afford my current place and potentially becoming homeless doesn't make me an urgent case? Oh well, "Mum! I'm coming home!" she has at least agreed to let me get broadband... Her exact words at one point were "I don't think that in-the-net thing will catch on anyway" LOL ahhh... Old people eh? ;)

Money - Not so great, the contingency fund has been reduced thanks to transport costs (boo!) but if the worst happens and I lose my job and I don't get any sort of cheeky backhander or redundancy from work then I'll just go for a DRO (I won't have any option to be fair) so I refuse to stress about this either :)

Life - Feeling a bit low in general as there aren't many certainties at the moment, well... Not short term anyway... I'm sort of thinking that 2014 just wasn't my year and get ready for a rocking 2015!!!! Fresh start and all that jazz eh? ;)

    TBC...

  • Hi SVC,

I don't like to think of things going badly... More going "off plan" LOL

I'm sure that everything will work out in the end, I think this just isn't my year :( but I plan on kicking some !!! in 2015 ;)

If I lose my job then hey ho, I also lose my debt as I won't be able to afford anything while surviving on benefits - silver lining ;)

If I get paid off while losing my job then I have a few options... I'll still have a roof over my head though so - silver lining ;)

If I keep my job and they keep giving me a continually reducing income then I can cut my loses and reduce my DMP payments which will likely result in debts being sold on to DCA's which could lead to deals being struck later on - silver lining ;)

If I lose my job, I'm losing something which pays well but ultimately I don't like and find extremely stressful! This will kick me to look into other, hopefully more enjoyable/less stressful options - silver lining ;)

Basically, I'll win in the end LOL.
