Does it go against you chasing promoters ?

For the first time today I have contacted a promoter asking if they have announced any winners yet for their recent competitions.
I have never done this before but this Promoter has had 3 different comps on 3 different mediums in the last 6-8 weeks (instagram, Pinterest and twitter) and from what I can see no winners have ever been announced? ( although my knowledge on these things is sketchy so I'm not sure if promoters have to announce winners??). Anyway they now have another competition so I've contacted them to ask.
I have regularly seen other compers enquire about winners & I would like to think asking would not go against you but even so I felt I have ruled myself out now by enquiring. Any Thoughts??

I think that if asking is likely to rule you out of winning any future competitions, then they obviously don't draw the winner fairly and so you probably would not win anyway, so ask away.0

They don't have to announce them.
Making the main prize winners details (usually at most just their surname and county) available by sending a SAE, for a limited time after the competition closes, is enough.0 -
I would be surprised if it would go against you with many comp hosts. I mean, perhaps if a question was asked rudely, but I hardly think that would apply with you
If it's a large organisation I'm sure they won't care. If it's a small one they will probably be glad to think that the comp they put on is getting hits. As far as I remember I've only ever been involved in one online comp. I was grateful for every enquiry and entry.

When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.0 -

I saw a message today on FB (Custom Consoles) to say they wouldn't be publicly announcing winners until all winners had responded to their emails. I guess they are doing that to avoid anyone fraudulently trying to claim a prize. It's nice that they say that, though, rather than letting people wonder whether there were any winners at all...0
