Cancelling Sky TV

Hi All,

Im new to this and Im in the process of cutting my outgoings. What I'd like to know is if I cancel my current sky subscription (im not under contract) will I still receive the freeview channels free via my sky box? I am unable to receive freeview through my aerial so I hope to keep some of the channels via sky!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I believe it depends on the age of the box. Someone is bound to come along soon to advise.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Try this - hopefully it should answer your question.

Incidentally, I cancelled my whole SKY Subscription at the end of May but you have to give 30 days notice, so I'll find out whether the link below is correct in the next few days.........;)

I cancelled my sky subscription about 2 months ago to save a few pennies and upon reading up on it on internet i thought i had got to buy a freeview card, they cost around £20, but this isnt true. When sky cancelled the subscription i still get the free channels and didnt have to do a thing, the only ones you cant get am E4 and more4 but the majority of all the other free channels you can get. Hope this helps!!!

hiya - we cancelled sky and still receive free to air channels without buying a card (but might be a prob if sky update their cards though unlikely in the near future IMO.) when you cancel you have to give them 30 days notice but to reduce the cost ask them to reduce your package to the cheapest one possible for this period.
