You need a mortgage offer before you can exchange contracts, but you also need a valid offer to enable you to complete. If the gap between exchange and completion is too long and the initial offer expires, you'll need a new one!Deposit paid to builder via solicitor.
Have had conflicting info, to begin with we were initially told that a mortgage would need to be in place 30 days from putting down the deposit (told by the builder) and then told by the solicitor it was 30 days from the creation of the contracts!
