Filling-in the 'book'

Just a quick one, went to sign on today with my oh.
We both have different S/As. Mine told me off for writing-down every job I had applied for & told me I only need to actually put down what I intend to do to find work & the outcome.

My oh's S/A told her she needs to list every firm she contacts regarding work.

Which one is correct ?.

Probably both of them, they all seem to work differently and from what I've read on here if you try to argue against them they can make things tough for you.

And they wonder why claimants get so frustrated. Surely even the DWP should have a set of procedures in place that tell the S/As what they need to know.

  • Bets to summarise number of jobs applied for, interviews eetc in the book, and keep a separate detailed list to show.

My JCP goon was quite impressed with mine, even though I thought was a bit scant, considering it was covering Xmas period!

When I was signing on I always used to write down all the jobs I applied for, as well as any other actions I took to find work e.g. phoning agencies.
Probably better to carry on as you are and record everything you apply for, I know if I was in your position I would rather get told off for being too detailed than for not appearing to do enough.
You just can't win with the job centre sometimes though!

    Still not any clearer then.

My oh has trouble writing so her S/A even moaned about the fact I'd filled in her book for her. If the S/A moans next time, I will report her to the manager for breach of the 'Equalities Act 2011'.

I was told to write down everything. There was a box (or is) where you write what happens next. So, in the first box I would write that I apllied for a job, I then received a phone call inviting me to interview and so on.

I don't want you undermining your potential complaint ;)

You can do it all on the Universal Jobmatch notes instead if easier.

Also each individual Jobseeker's Agreement will be different, so you each need to do what is on your agreement.

You need to write down all you have done to look for work or all the jobs you have applied for.

But I have been told I write too many down - because they do not want to look at it all.

Just wait until you and O/H are transfered onto Client Commitment then you will have something to complain about.

    All the best
