Checked credit files for first time since BR

I just got brave and decided to check noddle for the first time since going BR in 2010 and was shocked to find that all but 2 creditors are still reporting that I'm in default?! Is this normal? There is a sea of red everywhere. Orange are the only company that have my account as settled.

Could some kind person please direct me as what to do next? Some companies I have no clue who they are and assume they are debt collection agencies.

On Monday I'm going to be ordering paper copies of all 3 of hubby and i's statutory credit reports so want to be ready to get the ball rolling as I understand it can sometimes take years to get put right.

Also, I live in Scotland as afaik there is nowhere we can get a copy of a discharge certificate from so how do I send proof of having been dishcgarged in 2011?

Many thanks for any help given.

I know very little I am afraid but there is a very useful post by Fermi HERE that I think will tell you a great deal about what you need to do to clean up your credit file.

Thanks Monty, just slightly concerned that I have no "proof" of being discharged.

Proof of the actual BR is the main thing, which presumably you have. The BR order is the thing that sets the latest default date creditors can apply, that in turn controls when everything drops off your credit files.

Your OR might agree to write confirming discharge.

Thanks Fermi. I'm guessing I just attached a copy of my bankruptcy letter when I write to complain?
