Six Month Probation

Hi All,
Everything is going great in my new job and I'm currently doing a lot of training for roles I will soon be fully responsible for. One thing I did notice is that my first six month probationary period is almost up and nobody has mentioned this at work, should I just to be sure where I stand?

When that happened to me, I waited a further month then took cakes into the office and sent round an email to say that I'd brought them in to celebrate the end of my probationary period.
I never did get an official confirmation.0 -
If you were rubbish, they would have asked you to leave by now, so keep your mouth shut and let it pass, and by implication you have PASSED the probation. Unless there was money involved, in which case let it pass, until 7 months, and then ask where your extra cash is.0

Everyone is on 2 years probation as that is the default statutory period

Just that my situation will be reviewed after six months.0 -
It's common for employers to forget, or not have the resources, to do a 6m review. One of those cases where 'no news is good news'.
However, as another poster has pointed out, the 6m prob period has no standing in law. You have almost no job security until 2 years have passed
- once you've been there 2 years, you have rights against unfair dismissal. Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
