Testate on house?

Hi all
Just a quick question
Around 3 years ago my father passed away. Prior to that he went bankrupt and had to pay £12000 to secure house.
As he had that due to insurance with an accident that happened he put that money into my sisters account and she paid it on behalf of him.
Now he's not here I'm wondering what happens to that money?

If he gave her the money but she used it to pay for bills for him then that money has gone to who ever she paid it to.
If she has just kept the money and still has it then legally its in her possession. Whether anyone else has a claim on the money depends on the way he gave it to her. Unless something was written down (that the money was a loan) I cannot see you getting a share of it even if you are entitled to it since she could just say it was a gift.
The bankruptcy authorities would probably have a claim on the money if they knew of its existence. Do they know? Legally he should have told them but as he is not alive they may not bother with this matter.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. The OP is a bit confusing? If your sister paid the £12K to the OR on his behalf out of the money he received from the accident claim - then the £12K is the OR's and has been since it was paid to them, it will have been distributed to your fathers creditors as settlement of his debts.
Do you mean there was accident compensation money left over after the £12K was paid and who gets that? Any money paid into your sisters account is in fact your sisters...the bank will not be interested in where it came from.0
