Choosing a gym!

I joined a gym a couple of years ago, left and joined again later on, then left again, I guess I get bored easily lol!
Anyway I need to shed a few more pounds so thought I'd join again, I'm just having trouble deciding which one.
Gym 1, council gym £25 pm 10mins walk has a pool
Gym 2, gymophobics £30pm 10mins walk or 5 mins from work, quite strict 30 mins workout.
Gym 3 £19pm 15 mins walk centre of shopping centre, new but very basic, bit like a fish bowl as everyone walks past huge glass windows as you work out!
Gym 4 £30pm 20 mins walk, town again but a normal building, has a sauna
Gym 5 unsure on price yet about 25min walk new, has a resident dj which is kind of cool!
Plus there's a few classes here and there I could go to instead of membership.
I'm just wondering which would be be the best to keep me at the gym, the gymophobics I can see getting bored possibly but it's the easiest to get to, I'm a single mum and so can only go two days a week to the normal gym or leave dd at home(she's fine for an hr or 2 but obviously not ideal)
Any recommendations. From you lovely folk in here?

I'd go to the one you feel most comfortable at. When I had a desk bound job I used to go to a council one near to my work. I really enjoyed it and also used to go on Saturday morning which if I went from home it meant travelling across town to get to.
I only stopped going as I changed jobs to a manual job which involved a lot of bending with loads. Basically squats with weights.
You sound as if you like Gym 4 with a sauna, its only £5 more a month. However, 20 minutes for a walk isn't long but its a fair step after a gym session. Personally I wouldn't use the pool (Gym 1) so it makes no difference to me, but you might.
Being bored is your enemy with exercise. I know some people prefer to go to a class as they 'have to' go at a specific time which 'makes them' go. I preferred to go at a time which suited me.
Some ask a friend because you have to really think of an excuse not to go then

Personally I'd go for Gym 1 - it's the closest, and the pool would be a big bonus for me."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

For me it is all about convenience. I personally could not go to a gym that was out of my way. I have stuck at my gym for 9 months now (and I used to be a gym-hater) because I actually have to physically walk past it on the way home from work. No excuses. If it was out of my way I would have another reason not to go!Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0

Personally I'd go for Gym 1 - the thing that puts me off the Gymophobics one is the restrictions on the workout time. I'd hate a gym that imposed conditions on how long I could work out for. But I think you should go with the one you feel most comfortable at.For me it is all about convenience. I personally could not go to a gym that was out of my way. Agree. My gym is opposite the station which is great for me as having it staring me in the face when I get off the train guilts me into going!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

I'd choose whichever one has the best free weights area. But that's just me

Does the pool have 'family swim times'? you could take your daughter then.
The gym I use has certain times of the day when you can take children in. My grown up daughter goes during her lunch break for her, the goes one day at the week end with her son, my grandson, to swim with him.0 -
I'd go to the one which was the most convenient to get to, but also had the facilities I wanted.
When I joined mine I thought I'd spend most of the time in the gym. However I now find I love going to classes. There is such a variety, and as everyone is quite friendly it encourages me to go each week. if I miss a class I feel as though I am missing out, and they'll tell me off (in a nice way).0 -
Thanks everyone
not quite joined a gym yet though, but think ill go for the local council gym, I went swimming last night and enjoyed going again, however there is a joining fee so will wait for the next open day where it gets waivered.
In the meantime im going to give some local classes a go and search out free trials in other gyms lol. Its a shame the cheapest one, pure gym in town really doesnt appeal but there's no point joining if im not gonna stick at it!:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly0
