Hi
I had an interview for an internal position where I work on 21st December. I knew the 2 people interviewing me quite well and was told that a decision would be made the following week. Week commencing 23rd I find out both people are on leave that week so resign myself I would hear week commencing 30th but as I was on leave myself that week I emailed on the Monday to ask if a decision had been made. No reply. I've since been ill with norovirus and haven't returned to work yet (was due back on 6th) and a colleague thinks the job has since been re advertised but I still haven't been told the outcome of my interview. My mobile number was given so they could call me on that so not being at work to be able to advise me isn't an excuse.
Any ideas how to approach it when I return to work on Friday? I work for local government if that's any help.
Thanks in advance.

I would email and say that I presume I have been unsuccessful this time, could I please have some feedback.. etc.0

If they haven't replied to your e-mail, then why don't you call them yourself?0

Possibly they want to give you feedback in person and you haven't been in work? Hopefully they let you know when you go back in.
Good luck! I wouldn't automatically count yourself out. I've waited that long for feedback before and ended up with good news. I guess sometimes, speaking to you isn't their first priority annoying as that can be for candidates...Sealed Pot Challenge #239

I was hoping they would have the decency to contact me; especially as I already work quite closely with them so it makes it all rather bizarre really and don't want to make working relationships strained. It is odd though right; nearly 3 weeks on and heard nothing?0

Hi; I've since found out that HR made a mistake when advertising the job so it's been re advertised to be 'fair' to other candidates who may wish to apply and I won't find out til 21st Jan now. I don't know what the mistake was but will find out tomorrow. Has this happened to anybody else?0
