Will this online course be of any value?

Had this email sent through to me via mighty deals .

It is a business management with accounting diploma.

ww.nmatraining.org/business-management-with-accounting-diploma

Priced at £49 I believe. Website states £749 but taking that with a pinch if salt of course :p

Was wondering if anyone knew if this course would actually hold any benefits? Anyone ever bought one of these online courses? Would I be better throwing my money down a hole? :p

I am looking to broaden my horizons a bit, although not directly linked to my job, I feel this could help with certain aspects. (I work in the banking industry)

Reading the modules, there appears to be nothing that you can't get from these forums, HMRC website etc etc. it's very basic and appears to be a basic checklist of administering a business.

If you want to undertake a basic business course.

Something like this from the OU may be more appropriate as well as being from a well respected provider.

The widely available Certificate in Management Studies (CMS) is also a good course.

    Missing link?? :o
"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

  • Thanks for the reply. I thought that may of been the case to be honest.

I am ideally pondering the idea of looking into the career path of financial advice. Or something similar. Looking for some kind of online course I can just complete I'm my own time at home to see how much of it I can digest and take it from there really.

Only courses I have found so far though are costing a considerable amount!

If your are interested in furthering your qualifications I would second the Open Uni, i've studied upto Foudation Degree, need a kick up the rear to turn it into a degree... (2 yrs study for me).

Have you looked at your local college as well, as I previously did a HNC in Business and Finance at my local college - my course took 18mths that was on a 1 day a week, (for me it was either 1afternoon and follow through to 9pm) or could have done it as 2 evenings.

Unfortunatly the Goverment allowed educational authorities to set their own fees upto 9k a year, so where as with the OU, a level 2 business (60 points) was about £800 that is not £2,500 ... it is the same with all institues, - you could apply for student finance - either as pay throughout the course or a student loan and pay out of your wages if you earn over 21k (or something on that lines).

This is why your see all these "new courses" being advertised - there not all worth the paper there wrote on. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Agree above, one of the main reasons that FE Colleges are offering HIgher level courses at much lower rates than Universities are offering them, may be worth contacting your local college to find out what courses they have to offer and you may qualify for funding for it too.

That great then guys thanks. Il give that 50 quid course a body serve then.

I will have a look on my local collage and see of they have any finance courses available in the evenings.

Only problem is though that I have already spent 3 years at college before, so my free allowance would of been used up back then.
