Ive been doing my house insurance tonight. Ive tried all the ones with decent CB offers and couldn't get a quote for any less than double my renewal figure
Ive ended up going through the forces discount website and have found one that is only slightly below my renewal quote, if I factor in an extra discount for first time policies. It's such a small saving, I don't know if I'll bother.
I guess occasionally, it's just not possible to beat your current provider

As I mentioned the other evening, I noticed that some of the insurance companies seem to offer different prices depending on your route into their site. Going from TCB to one such site produced a quote £150 more than going through Go Compare (even both ended up being on the same site). I am wondering whether getting the quote on Go Compare, go to their site, then in another browser go through TCB to their site and complete the sale may mean the lower premium and the cashback ...?

Im not keen on the comparison sites, using them seems to result in endless annoying phone calls from companies touting for business. It's part of the T&Cs of using the sites. It is possible to opt out but it's not easy to find out how and actually do it.

I got a massive cut by shopping around last year, and I got CB. I shouldn't really expect to be able to cut it much further, if at all. Im sure you can only get it so low. To be fair, my current insurer has only increased my premium by £2 odd PA. I feel like Ive spent all night trying to save money that can't really be saved TBH. It's just become such a habit to try! :D

    How you doing everybody?

Hope you have all had a smashing weekend.

Wonderful reading about all the bargains you guys have been having at Tosco and what not. How do you guys manage to find them all? There was nothing to be had when I went yesterday. Is there a secret stash under one of the tiles on the floor? Secret instructions? Enter....25 steps forward...turn left...50 steps forward and then dig to find all the hot bargains? Hahaha.

Speak soon and sleep well all.

    Where is his SL?

    What a beautiful place:)

Hi Trulymadly I hope you are well. I think it is taken from the fairfield horseshoes looking over Grassmere and Rydal. It's one of my favourite places in the lake district.

It was on one of my partners old camera's that I found that I am going to us for clipsnap
Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.

I got a good deal from Aviva last year and £70 Quidco.

I have used Aviva before with the £70 cashback, but no good for me this time.

Agree. I am defeated, will just have to renew with Saga, though it hurts me not to find a better deal :)

Think it's the velvet tissues going down to £1 tomorrow. There are some vouchers knocking around out of the last T mag I think:)

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.
