Fair play to you OP, your not bailing the step daughter out and helping her out the best way. I hope it all works out for you and your step daughter learns from it.

LOL - Yes and no - Some people will get themselves into a corner and have no other choice (I admit it's still a bad choice)

But if it is a proper 'Payday loan' getting more next month makes things worst, and worst the following month.

    I am full of sympathy.

And have a not dis-similar situation ongoing at the moment.

I think she needs to be shocked before you realizes how bad these companies actually are. I understand how you want to help her and pay the debts off for her before they accumulate but she's never going to learn, a shock will help her realize her mistakes.
  • Question about the Budget summary Form we have from the CAB.
We can fill it all except the debtors bit
She knows how much she owes to the loan company
The £455 she owes me we were going to add to this list on the non priority section.
But the money she owes her mum is 3 months rent at £150 and another £150 her mum lent her (to stop her going to loan companies).
Should the £450 back rent go in the rent arrears column? Or are the loan company debtors not going to take this?

    Thanks again

Kudos to you for the way you're supporting her with this!

The 'rent' as you describeit is actually board and lodgings; I would assume.

Nevertheless; in the big picture it's a significant 'chunk' of additional debt and should, IMO be declared.
