Restaurant Reception - Menu Cost

Options
We are thinking of holding our reception in a restaurant or pub as we don’t want a hotel type reception - and they are mega expensive.

Is it likely that we would pay less (or more even) than their menu price - given that all guests would have the same (bar vegetarians) for each course? And their function room / resutarant would be full (of our guests) Or whether we could negotiate any freebees (eg a free drink for our guests on arrival)?

Comments

  • You can certainly try to negotiate something with them. Whether they'll agree or not will really depend on how much they need the business; if they are normally full anyway then they won't gain by your being there; if they are not all that busy or you are there on a night that isn't popular (mid-week?) it's more likely they'll agree. A busy pub for Sat night - don't get your hopes up.
