i really like this site/forum i used to be on another site but left after being with it from the beginning due to people being quite spiteful to me and other posters. i tried to post competitions i found im only human not good at links but i do find competitions in newsletters websites etc and sometimes i do submit what other people have submitted often just from posting same time. i dont want to tread on anyones toes here or upset anyone i dont have much self esteem and it dont take a lot to make me give up lol but i dont just want to lurk if i find something id like to share can anyone tell me what is best way to proceed with submitting on here please

I would say if you find a comp that isn't posted after you have searched then as long as it is not a magazine comp where someone has paid to get the answers or one of the ITV comps that have regular posters then go ahead and post it , you will see when you search if a particular sites comps are normally posted by 1 individual poster and maybe then you could send them a message to let them know there is a new comp but I don't think that is actually a rule just more a bit of politeness really , lastly if anyone does give you any grief then let it go over your head because we are all suppose to be here to help each other win and any input from any user however small is part of that and if people want to be nasty then it is them who are at fault and not you . Good luck .0

I think trying to contribute is the most important thing, sometimes duplication happens by people posting within minutes, that's to be expected. If i find a comp that hasn't been posted i do a quick search by company name and prize and if it isn't there then i post it - i'll copy and paste the link from the address bar and give the blurb the site gives about the prize. Don't worry too much about stepping on toes, comping is a hobby and hobbies are for your own pleasure no one elses.
So long as you try to post and look for duplicates you're already doing more than some. Try the sticky threads at the top for hints and tips. Most importantly have fun.
Remember no matter what any of us do in life there will always be the few who can only get where they want by standing on others.
To quote Eleanor Roosevelt 'No one can make you feel inferior without your consent' x ;-)Starting afresh - comping as much as poss!
Hoping for: some beauty goods, clothes, amazon vouchers, anime, manga, wardrobe, fridge freezer, laptop, an ipad, vouchers for next, exercise goods, a uk break and a wee hol somewhere nice!
Wishing all a little luck:beer:0 -
This section of the comping guide covers posting ones you find, searching and also lists sites that don't want their comps and/or answers posted as well as possible "spam" sites that comps are generally not posted from.

Recently posted threads do not show up on searches, not sure if it's 15 mins or more before they do, so duplicates then are hard to avoid but most of the time most of them will show on a search. (If a competition requires an answer which is more than just a letter then searching for the answer can help find posts)0 -

The way I'm trying to be helpful, for fear of duping all the time, is checking out which competitions have expired, and pressing the expired button. This helps out those people that sort the board with the oldest posted comps first. Well. It makes me feel like I'm helping anyway.
I always presumed that the threads get moved once a certain number of contributors press Expired?0 -

As a back up they do go to GO after a certain number of "Expireds" have been pressed (the actual number required must not be revealed), normally Board Guides just move them 100's at a time.0
