Hi pop tart. I'm subscribing and wishing you lots of luck. I'm no longer in debt but fritter money away like water and was in debt for many years so trying to be better. I'm also trying to lose weight and have just taken up running.

Re magazines, have you tried reading them in the local library? Ours stocks some fairly popular ones. Or you could make friends with a hairdresser and see if they mind you sitting in reception reading theirs!

Before I went travelling I wasted so much cash, even though I saved loads, I could have saved double I reckon.

I'm looking into the couch to 5k thing but just need to get some decent trainers before attempting it.

I never thought about going to the library for magazines - last time I stepped in my local one, the shelves were pretty empty, but I'll give it another try

Wow... you sound a lot like me in some aspects.

I am fast approaching 30, this year in fact. (I feel like I should be more mature for my age).
    :o

I lost some weight and have now gained it all back (and a wee bit of interest). My aim for 2014 is to lose 72lbs (or a fair bit of it anyways).

I also spent beyond my means on holidays and things and have about £4,000 debt.
    :embarasse

I will be subscribing and I wish you all the luck in the world.
    :)

p.s - very jealous of the travelling. It is something I would love to do.

Age is just a number - it says nothing on your maturity level! I thought I was old when I was 25, I feel 20 years younger now then I did then!

The way I'm eating now is the most normal way I've eaten in a very long time. It takes planning, which I am getting used to, but it is worth it. I get rewarded with stickers & certificates so that is a motivator for me :D

  • I weighed in this morning & lost 4 pounds! :D:j so pleased with myself!!!

I've had a busy couple of days, finished work at half nine tonight :(. My head feels like it's about to implode so will have to leave looking at other people's debt free diaries until the weekend. What I've seen on here so far has really inspired me and I can't wait to fully embrace my inner debt-free wannabe!

Will post a proper update on saturday when I don't feel like cucooning myself in bed.

Oooh - fantastic :D - we'll have to share all our weird and wonderful dating stories!

I travelled through Canada and the US for 3 months then went over to Singapore, mainland Malaysia and Borneo. It was such an amazing trip, really want to start travelling again once I've paid off debt and developed a more stable life.
