Thanks again all, all advice taken very seriously.
i'm paying £251 extra on my rent for the next 6, 5 months actually after this month 4 months for outstanding. my actual is £417.
i have given up on council now, in their last letter after i challenged them they sent me a letter saying that i owed 0.00 due to change in recovering method. they went on to explain that these could be either i'm not the person they have overpaid and some other reasons. bottom line, they are not asking me to pay the amount they had previously asked so i dont want to rock the boat as i owe 'apparantly' for previous overpayment of IS &HB,CTB from my early student days.
i shop for food in Aldi, i thought Lidl had become too expensive.
