tour de france

I live on the route of the Tour de France which is hitting the streets later this year. I have three spare bedrooms, and two bathrooms, and it seems a shame not to make use of them to make a bit of extra cash from the visitors who will be coming along.:j

Can anyone tell me what I would need to do in order to do this? I don't want to become a full-time B&B, just do it for the duration of the tour. I've e-mailed the organisers, but just got a holding e-mail saying they would get back to me - that was about 3 months ago.

Will there be any call for accommodation on the route? the riders are through and the spectators packed up within a couple of hours unless you live near the start/finish or at the end of one of the stages.
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.
  • It's over two days, so people will need at least 2 nights' accommodation, plus many people make a holiday of it so will arrive early or stay longer. Accommodation locally will certainly be at a premium, and I want to jump on this particular bandwagon if I can. What I need to know is how to go about it.

Probably best to contact the local/nearest tourist information centre for advice on how to get started. a lot of people will make contact with them when looking for somewhere to stay.

I was at a meeting for work purposes with some of the main logistical organisations about the Tour last week. If you get in touch with the tourism department of your local council, they will be able to help advertise through the official website and Welcome to Yorkshire.
