Professional debt advice required

I have used this board previously but not had the support of my wife in dealing with our debts. it now so happens that she has had a attachment of earnings order and has asked my help in filling it out....

I don't think it is her lightbulb moment just yet but we must be nearly there (hopefully)... anyway...

I need recommendations for professional debt advice as we have approx. 75K worth of debt with at various stages of recovery.. (I have 4 CCJ's) the wife now has two.

Working together we could pay of the debt in 4 years so we want to repay what we have borrowed!!

Could someone please advise where we can get professional help in Cheshire.

Also I would like to try and get an extension to the N55 form so could do with a template if it Is possible to do so....

With careful planning, you ought to be able to manage on £300 a month for food. There are 'allowed' figures which I believe are £100 per week for a family of 4 but frankly, you can do a lot better if you put your mind to it. Those figures were calculated by people who themselves didnt know what they were doing, so are generous in the extreme. If you want to get out of debt in anything less than your lifetime, it is going to mean some very serious belt tightening. I have known people to get out of that kind of debt, but it took some discipline, it wasnt pleasant and they effectively put their lives on hold for 4 years or more. You wont get anywhere until you get to the mindset that you will not tolerate this situation a minute longer than absolutely necessary...then, you have your light bulb moment and there is little you wont do to get out of it.

The youngest is old enough to have a job. If she wants lunches, I advise she joins the rest of the western world in work. Likewise, your other daughter. They are not children any longer and it is time they moved up and started their lives as productive members of your family first and society second. How much rent do you charge the elder two?
