MF in 4 years - what term should I fix to?

We've just had a letter through from HSBC to tell us that our 5 year fixed term is coming to an end at the end of March. This means that We'll only have 4 years left before we are MF.
My question is, what type of mortgage should we now get. Should we fix for 2 years, and then another 2 years at the end, or 5 years now and then we'll run out a year early.
There seems to be a lot of information about taking out mortgages online, but not an awful lot about finishing one.
